In this Meet the Team feature, Master Painter Von takes you inside the finishing booths at ShopSabre in Lakeville, Minnesota to show how aerospace coating standards protect our heavy-duty CNC machinery.

An industrial CNC machine tool must survive punishing production environments filled with flying chips, metal dust, and aggressive coolants. Before joining ShopSabre, Von spent nine years coating military jets at Collins Aerospace, mastering the precise sanding, prep, and spray techniques required for high-stakes flight hardware. As Von explains, “Just for Collins Aerospace for like 9 years doing painting for the military jet, almost similar to what I do right here: crafting, painting, sanding, but over here is heavy duty.“
